Pray the Rosary

People irritate me. They walk all over me, if I let them. I can be engulfed by their negativity and manipulation until I am drowning in it.

I can keep these offenders at bay by treating them the way they treat me. But this isn’t Kosher – for a Catholic, anyway. It’s, “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” Besides, I’m not comfortable (or any good at) facing off with forceful people.

But I have found an ally. Mary. I had heard that the Rosary was a powerful prayer but didn’t believe that until it was powerful for me.

When someone hurts my feelings or is belligerent or hostile towards me, I tell myself, “I am not going to let this person drag me into their discontentment.” And then I pray the Rosary. It is so easy!

As I work my way through the Rosary, my spirit is lifted. I begin to adopt the heart of Jesus. By the time that I am done with the last decade, my spirit is soaring. I find myself even praying for that person who has injured me.

Pray for your enemies. Pray the Rosary. You will be better for it and find a peace of mind that you never thought possible.
